Effect of some nutrients on coccidiosis in poultry
Cossidiosis is a disease which causes considerable economic losses in poultry production. The expected ban on the use of anticoccidial drugs in feeds resulted in research being initiated on alternative strategies for coccidiosis control. The article reviews the effect of chosen nutrients and their dietary levels on the alleviation of coccidiosis consequences in poultry. Nutrients such as protein and amino acids, vitamins (E, A), microelements (Zn, Se) and polyunsaturated fatty acids were discussed in terms of their modes of action in this area.
Keywords: poultry, coccidiosis, protein, amino acids, vitamins, microelements, n-3 fatty acids
