| The aim of research was to analyze neoplasm location and its frequency of occurrence in domestic animals in the Lower Silesia area. The material used for the study consisted of 960 neoplasm's obtained during operation procedures, postmortem examinations or biopsies which were sent to the Department of Pathologic Anatomy at the Wroclaw Agricultural University for histopathology verification. The most numerous group appearing during the course of analysis was canine neoplasms 855 cases (89.1%), next was feline neoplasm's 86 (8.9%), horse neoplasms 18 (1.9%) and cattle neoplasms 1 (0.1%). A definite increase in the incidence of neoplasms in domestic animals was visible, compared to analogous studies carried out in the same area between 1957-1995 , and skin neoplasms with subcutaneous tissue (principally fibro sarcomas) and mammary gland neoplasms (principally Aden carcinomas) dominated. |
