| Frequency of hoof disease occurrence in dairy cattle according
to number and phase of lactation
|
| Hoof diseases belong to currently the most important problems among high-yielding dairy cattle. The aim of study was to determine the frequency of hoof diseases occurrence according to number and phase of lactation. The research was performed from 1st of Mai 2011 to 29th of February 2012 in three farms in Wielkopolska. The subject of the experiments were 343 cows of PHF breed, in which a result of hoof correction, some irregularities were found.
The research proved increased frequency of hoof diseases occurrence during the first lactation I general (46, 36%) and in third phase (>200d) of each single lactation. The received results reflect lack of basic prophylaxis and decreased immunity in high-yielding dairy cows in a specially in the last phase of lactation. These are the direct reasons of economic loss caused by excessive elimination of cows processing having the best qualities.
