| Veterinarian and business executive Antoni Leparski (1874-1944) – new sources for his biography |
| This article presents the biography of veterinarian Antoni Leparski (1874-1944), a graduate of the Kharkiv Veterinary Institute, a lieutenant colonel in the reserve army, an active figure in interwar Poland, and civilian victim of the Warsaw Uprising. His biography is based on unique archival sources that have been preserved to this day in the collections of the State Archives of the Kharkiv Region in Kharkiv. The analyzed documents are introduced to the scientific community for the first time. The illustrations accompanying the article (a photo of Antoni Leparski, his letter, and his diploma) have also never been published before. Based on the archival sources found, the authors were able to establish the date of his birth, his childhood living conditions, his schooling, and some facts from the period of his studies in Kharkiv and the beginning of his professional career. His subsequent periods of life in St. Petersburg and Warsaw have also been supplemented to a certain extent. The authors conclude that Antoni Leparski’s fate was similar to the tragic destinies of many Polish people of his generation and is worth remembering. |
