| Cross-Transmission of Klebsiella pneumoniae Across Ecological Niches, Potential Hazards and Prevention and Control Strategies/td> |
| The increasing antibiotic resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae (KP) has become a global public health issue. This bacterium is an opportunistic zoonotic pathogen capable of causing various infectious diseases. It primarily infects the respiratory, digestive, and urinary tracts, as well as wounds or soft tissues, in both animals and humans, leading to conditions such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, sepsis, and liver abscesses. This review focuses on the hazards of KP in human, animal, food and environmental transmission, as well as the relationships between these factors. It also briefly describes strategies for the prevention and control of KP. This review aims to enhance awareness of the risks associated with KP, provide a theoretical basis for source control and public health risk early warning, and is of significant importance for safeguarding human and animal health, environmental hygiene, and food safety. |
